Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all company and UPS vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains good housekeeping practices for cleanliness, neatness, and compliance
  • Complies with all current safety regulations, administrative procedures, methods, practices, and company standard operation procedures (SOP).
  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic test.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics.
  • Completes machine shop operations, adjusting and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and general repair on UPS vehicles; orders repair parts as needed, completes, and submits all necessary paperwork weekly for billing.
  • Responsible for general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
  • Immediately relay all safety issues to the Maintenance Supervisor/General Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. 
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, motivated, and able to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Prior Heavy maintenance background preferred.
  • Possess and maintain a minimum of a class B CDL license, with Tanker, Hazmat, Airbrakes indorsement.
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
